Hurricane Update 2017

UPDATE September 19, 2017

UPDATE September 8, 2017

CEO Joseph Williams and a close friend and supporter of Feed the Hunger just returned from assisting in aid and relief efforts in and around Houston after Hurricane Harvey. Please watch the two-minute video above, which shows what your partnership made possible for many victims of this historic natural disaster. In short, 262,000 servings of nutritious food, 100 cleaning supply kits, 300 masks, and 840 pounds of liquid bleach were given by FtH to the needy in this first week following the hurricane. Please “like” us on Facebook if you haven’t already done so, to view other pictures that have been posted from Texas. We will keep an eye on Hurricane Irma and let you know of our aid and relief efforts after this East Coast event as well. God bless you!

UPDATE September 5, 2017

Greetings in the name of Christ.

Like all Americans, we are moved to help Texans in their time of need. On Saturday afternoon, a full container of our meal packets arrived in Beaumont, Texas. You will recall that this is the location of severe flooding and no drinking water that caused the evacuation of the hospital. Our food will help in this community as well as several others.

I leave this morning along with a close friend to facilitate the distribution of this food and act as the Holy Spirit leads. Please be in prayer with me that God would use us to touch lives for His glory. I look forward to sharing with you more later in the week via video.

If you would like to help with our ongoing efforts, please donate as God directs you.

Joseph Williams, CEO

Greetings to those concerned for Texas,

It has been our experience that the best way to help after natural disasters is through a collaborative partnership. Just as in the Body of Christ, each church, organization, or other entity brings a particular skill or giftedness to the table. It should be of no surprise that ours is supplying dehydrated meal packets that can be handed out or prepared at mobile kitchens.

Feed the Hunger is involved with two such collaborations in the wake of this natural disaster in Texas. The first is with CitiIMPACT, whom we partnered with after last year’s historic flooding in North Carolina. The second is with Compassion Katy, a network of churches in Katy—a suburb of Houston—that partnered with us to package over 625,000 meals last year.

Food has been and will continue to be deployed through these two dynamic partnerships. 17,000 servings are already on the way, and another 275,000 will leave this week. We want to deploy all available meals to help our fellow Americans in their time of need. We will also be on the ground as needed and only as it relates to meal distribution. We are not planning to send work teams at this time; others in our collaborative partnerships specialize in this area.

Please consider making a donation to Aid and Relief to help us produce and distribute more food. If your church or business can sponsor and host a Packathon between now and September 20th to help replenish our depleted supply, please contact us as soon as possible at or call us at 1.888.772.9634.

Serving with you,

Joseph Williams, CEO
